Welcome!

This is the website of Alexander Rolnick. It is currently (and perhaps eternally) under construction. I do have aspirations to turn it into something useful eventually, but at the moment it is mostly a placeholder.

I am currently a teacher at Mary Institute and Saint Louis Country Day School (MICDS) in St. Louis. I teach World History, St. Louis History, and African History.

Previously, I taught at Back of the Yards College Prep in Chicago, Illinois where I taught Global Politics (a Diploma Programme class in the International Baccalaureate program), Civics, World Studies, and Ethnic Studies. Prior to that, I was at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, working on my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction for certification in Secondary Education Social Studies & English as a Second Language.

Before that, I taught English and History at Abaarso School in Somaliland, where I also served as the Head of the Upper School. As an AmeriCorps*VISTA, I coordinated a mentoring and tutoring program for youth in Madison, WI. And prior to that, I taught English in rural Tanzania, which was the genesis for this website in the form of a blog I wrote that year.
